2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to:
the baitme website, the baitme web application, the baitme desktop application (Electron app). 3. Definition of a Bait
A "Bait" is a challenge created by a viewer within baitme that is linked to a performance-based payment.
For example, a viewer may create a Bait for a streamer where payment depends on whether a specific in-game objective is completed within a defined time period.
4. General Information About Data Processing
We process personal data exclusively in accordance with applicable data protection laws, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We follow the principle of data minimization and only process personal data that is necessary for providing our services.
5. Registration and User Accounts
Using baitme as a streamer requires the creation of a user account.
Authentication is provided exclusively through third-party OAuth providers, including:

As part of the authentication process, we may receive and store:
unique OAuth identifier display name e-mail address (if provided by the respective provider) registration date technical account settings

6. Processing of Baits
To provide our services, we process information related to created and completed Baits.
This may include:

7. Payment Processing
Payments are processed through Stripe.
Streamers connect their accounts using Stripe Connect Standard.
Information required for payment processing is transmitted to Stripe.
We do not store credit card information, bank account details, or other payment credentials.
We only store technical references necessary for payment execution and tracking, including:

8. Use of the Desktop Application
The baitme desktop application is used to automatically evaluate game events and determine whether a Bait has been successfully completed.
For this purpose, the application may:
read game events from official game interfaces, modify local game settings where necessary to enable official interfaces, transmit Bait-related game events to baitme services.
The desktop application does not:
capture screenshots, record audio, log keystrokes, monitor activities outside supported games.

9. Rocket League Integration
When using Rocket League, the desktop application may modify settings required to enable the official Rocket League Stats API.
This allows game events to be read locally and used for the automated evaluation of Baits.
Processing is performed solely for the purpose of evaluating Baits.

10. Hosting and Technical Infrastructure
We use external hosting providers to operate our services.

11. Server Log Files
When accessing our services, technical connection data may be processed in server log files.

baitme does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
In particular, we do not use:
Google Analytics Meta Pixel Google Ads similar tracking or marketing platforms
Any technically necessary session-related data is used solely for providing our services.

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the respective purposes or to comply with legal retention requirements.
User accounts may be deleted upon request, provided that no legal obligations require continued retention.
